Magnifique Photography has partnered with Philosophy Photography to bring to you a way to get amazing picturesand donate to an amazing organization.
On October 24th, 2009 we will host a charity photography day for the Women for Women International Organization.

The even more amazing thing is your donation will be doubled thanks to a corporation match. So your donation
of $150 will actually be $300! These donations will go towards building centers that will be more than just a retreat from
outside challenges: they will serve a community of women who are learning, growing, gaining new skills, and
taking control of their lives. For the first time in their lives, women survivors of war will find a space where they can share their
stories. They will know, finally, that they belong to a community that acknowledges and values their contributions.

How this day will work:
Each session is 30 minutes long and the minimum donation required is $150. We would love if you could donate more to this great cause, especially since your donation will be doubled! You will receive all digital images on a disc from your session-copyright free. 100% of our profits will go to the organization. We just want to do this to try to give back a little because we have been so truly blessed in our lives.
Time slots will be limited and are on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a morning session in downtown Ogden for a more urban feel and in the late afternnon/evening at Beus Pond in Ogden with fall leaves and the pond. These sessions can be for families up to 6 people, children, seniors, teens, bridals or even engagements.
A non-refundable deposit of $75 is due on October 10th to hold your time slot. The remaining donation (minimum of another $75) is required on October 24th.

I have been a sponsor of this organization for about five years. I sponsor a new “sister” every year from Bosnia. I just donate $27 a month. That goes towards providing my sister with financial assistance to aid her in learning new job skills and rights awareness, while also giving her hope and emotional support to rebuild her self-esteem and her life. I have NEVER missed that $27. I write my sponsor sister letters and she also writes me. The organization translates them for us. I wanted to share some of my sister’s letter with you:
“...I do not cease to think of a wonderful woman, and a wonderful family somewhere far away who asks me how they can help me. I am my children are delighted to know that there is someone who thinks of us and wants to help us. Believe me, every help is welcomed. This program helped many people, and I hope it will also help me . . . .I’m glad you sent me photographs of your children and I show these photos to everyone. My children are fine, they are obedient and say to me, ”Mom, please invite your sister Terra to come with her family to Sarajevo on vacation and to be our dear guests.” There had been Olympic Games in Sarajevo, but the war destroyed that place. We spend whole war in Sarajevo. I wish the war never repeats and to no one. I wish the peace to whole world, and that war never breaks out anywhere. . . .(She then goes on to tell about her son who just graduated from high school and is unable to find a job. Many people wait years to find a job) . . . If only he got a job, everything would be ok and I would emerge from this crisis. I’m not ashamed to do anything, as long as it is honorable work, in order to find a source of income for my family. The biggest problem right now is to buy school books because they are very expensive, and to buy clothes, shoes. I can not even think about it. . . . If only we were closer to each other, me and my children would help you in your house and with your children. . . We love and kiss you so much!

After reading this letter I started to cry because I thought of how much I have and how little this family has and is still so hopeful and happy. I wanted to help and do something more than what I was already doing. I came up with this charity photography day as a way to donate more to this organization, and to also get our community involved. Please help us raise as much money possible to help these survivors of war around the world.
