I really regret not hiring a professional photographer on my wedding day. We had a family friend do it and hardly any of the pictures turned out. I would tell brides to spend the money on getting good pictures so that you at least have that to remember your day. My favorite thing I did on my wedding day was have the dinner the night before. We were a lot less stressed because we didn't have three events in one day.

Ok, so this is a tip I keep forgetting to add. Put someone in charge of decorating your car before your wedding! Better yet, go and buy the window writers and give them to someone before the wedding so your car will be fun & look nice, but it won't be damaged or look like someone threw up on it. A tradition we do in our family is the "money" car. We use the window writers to decorate the WINDOWS, then put $1-$5 bills all throughout the car-now that is something fun to clean out of your car! Plus, it pays for the car wash.

So after one of the coldest days of the year, my piece of advice for brides on their winter weddings would be wear leggings, thermals, (they make thermal garments even), whatever under your dress to keep you warm. You can even wear regular shoes or boots! When it is time to do shots that show your shoes, hike up your leggings and/or switch shoes. Stay warm so you can stay happy & look that way in your pictures

Ok, so this advice is about thank you cards. If you want to do it a little cheaper (after spending so much for your wedding!) get postcard size thank you's (I actually can custom make double sided ones for you-you can get 500 for only $75) and that will save you about half on postage! To send a postcard is 20 something cents compared to 41 right now for regular mail.
